No one has tried this before?..If the 8800gts has S-video output and the Wii has S-video output would it plug into card?...and i got surround sound that can use composite...would it work?

the 8800 is SVID OUT not IN
you will need to use an INPUT somewhere to plug the wii into

Does your LCD have component inputs? S-video inputs?

a converter is probably the only way, unless you use a tv tuner with some kind of input

Personally, I'd grab a TV Tuner card and go from there. I used to do that with my Gamecube, and the output wasn't great, but it was useable.

http://www.vdigi.com/ site is a bit slow to load but it will

Here you go, it is a VGA adapter something similar to the xbox vga adapter.

I found this online and because my brother was looking to hook it up to his Computer monitor.
He just got back from college with the cords waiting for him on his bed.
I actually helped him hook it up last night.

The only problem we ran into was we had to hook it up to an actual HDTV to change the Wii display settings to I think 480p it was. There was no way that i found to make this change, if it is hooked up to a normal tv this option is greyed out.

Do your research and make sure you have the proper setup meaning this cord has vga and it has another single video output (looks like an S-video cable)
It has different ways to hook up to a speaker system as well.

So far we have had no problems, we used it last night for about 5 hours.
It also is shipped form Asia which maybe scary for some, but again my brother didnt have any issues.

Always as plus it has a Blue LED light on it as well  hope that helps

hey BIB, thanks for the link man!!!!

i have that bookmarked in my "to buy" folder!!!

I already have my 360 hooked to my monitor via VGA. Now i can do the same with the wii!!! Luckily, i already have a KVM. so i can use the one VGA input for both systems!

My monitor has all the inputs I could need for hooking up a console to it, so that wouldn't be a problem for me. My problem would, however, be what to do for sound. On my old xp3200 setup (Abit mobo), I was able to plug into the onboard sound input jack, and get straight playthrough of the sound for my PS2. My new gigabyte mobo doesn't seem to allow for this. Would something like a tv tuner card allow for sound play through? I don't really have the option for putting a tv in my gaming area (no room for what I have there now), so I really need to find a way to hook a console through my pc/monitor.

luckily for me my flat panel has s video so I run my wii into that. It doesn't look too bad.

If your video card has s video you could run it through there.

Why not pick up an old audigy from the classifieds, it would have the correct input and would probably be better than your O/B sound anyway.

Sound is easy. RCA to mini din jack whatever measurement it is adapter.

Then headphones or plug into your speakers or whatever device you want to use.
