I have been reading up on Water Cooling over the last few weeks and am ready to make the jump in the next few weeks. I have my eyes on a "kit" from Petra's Tech Shop http://www.petrastechshop.com/pecosliba.html and this seems to have all the quality parts that I've been reading about. My real question is for those of you with a TT Armor case. With the supplied parts, will I need to modify my case at all? I'm not very good at case modding type work so I'd rather stay away from it as much as possible. If it helps at all, the case I currently have is the Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS with 25 CM fan. Also any comments on the parts would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

:D

People just keep asking about the case I love :D:D

You can put the radiator in about 3 locations:

On the back.

In the front.

No modding required on the top two, this next will require modding.

In the bottom, you can see the fans and grills.

I love this case. Sadly, I sold it a couple months back :(

Lastly, :welcome: to the forums!!!! :D

Very cool, thanks for the pics. Do any of these have an advantage over the others as far as installing/removing the water, or cooling the parts better?

Its been a while since ive posted on here but here is my WC'd armor.

This is basically the current setup.

I find it very easy to access every component if needed. Parts used are in my sig.

You can find a link to my Armor in my Sig.

The easiest way to setup water cooling in the Armor is to place the radiator in the front drive bays. This should require no modding of the case at all.

Jas nice setup, I actually saw your thread but didn't want to highjack it with my questions :) I'm currently on air and running idle around 35-36C with a Q6600 CPU at stock settings, what kind of temps do you guys think I could expect to see with the setup I'm looking to purchase?

It's hard to say what temps yo umight see, no two WC setups are the same, and will always have differences in performance. That being said, you should see a dramatic improvement over air. You can probably expect to see anywhere from a 10-15 degree drop in idle temps. I really well doen WC setup will produce idle temps that are just a few degree above ambient air temp.

^^^
It looks like a Vantec NXP like the one I have on mine (in same position actually). If it's the same as the one I have it's not, well, it's not really the best controller out there. It looks great though.

IE: (note: I've since cleaned it up alot, both interior and behind the case, and repainted the UV orange section on the hsf):

Oddly enough, I also have a wireless antenna mounted on the top of my Armor (assuming that's what that round white thing is). Not watercooled though so doesn't apply much to this thread :/

Laggam, very nice setup you've got there. What kind of WC parts do you have running in that setup? Also what kind of temps are you getting on your CPU at the moment?

Danger Den (DD) D5 pump
DD TDX CPU Block
DD 8800 GTS full block
Black Ice 360 Steath Rad.
Swiftech mico res (drill out extra hole for TT tempurature sensor and LCD monitor)

Liquid is 95% distilled H2O, 5% Zerex water wetter and 2-3 drops copper sulfate.

I just got this sytem up last weekend and i'm running AMD 5000 BE @ the motherboard bootup 2.8ghz and the 8800GTS @ stock speed.
Right now I'm getting 28-30C temps with 3x120 Zalman fans running at 950rpm (low). I plan on getting the AMD up to 3.5-3.6ghz and the GPU up another 100-150mhz clock on GPU and memory. We shall see!

My next plan is to add another 8800 gts (640mb) and do SLI. That is when the prices drop down a bit.

tat2monsta, I love the temperature gage you have there, what kind is that?
