I've got my processor set at the highest speed and temps that I'm comfortable with on the stock intel cooler, so now it's time to fiddle with my RAM. I'm not expecting much out of it since its basically valueRAM, but this is what I've got, those cheapy G. Skills: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231098

right outta the box when I first fired everything up, the RAM was running at ddr816 1:2 with the cpu and I saw no problems with that speed while it was there. Now with the processor at 310x9, I've got them running at ddr750 i think, because the next divider in my BIOS put them at like ddr832, and I wasn't finished testing the cpu yet.

Since I really don't care about benchmark numbers for the sake of numbers, I'll pose this question: Where is the point that fsb shows more performance than tighter timings? basically, when am I better off going with ddrXXX speeds as opposed to ddr800ish @ 4-4-4-10? Confusing I'm sure, but I think I've gotten my idea across :)

And also, CPUZ shows that I'm running in 2T right now. Should I be able to run these at 1T, and up to what speed will that continue to work?

Thanks!

Give this a read. I found it both helpful and interesting reading.

You can use the above as a guide to get you started, but in the end individual testing on your specific system will give you the answer that your seeking.

Wow... that is a good read. I may not even bother doing anything more than setting the RAM as close to ddr800 as I can get it and leave it alone. I won't see any massive improvements on my system from the looks of that article anyhow.

Might try to tighten up the timings...

Keep in mind that the more you overclock, the more benefit from running at higher memory clocks.

I would look at those tables/charts as a guide and try to find the sweet spot where the memory clock speed and timings are at their relative best, stable and within the voltage limits that you set for yourself.

p/s: Best of my knowledge 1T is not an option on that Abit IP35-E mobo of yours.

Not an option meaning it won't do it? It does have the option in the BIOS, I just wasn't sure if the memory would do it or not.
