Where is the F@H folder? It could be that you put the folder in a place that cannot be seen by other users.

With NT/2000/xp I believe it has to be set up as a service so that it continues to run no matter who is logged in. There were a couple of ways to do it. One is with firedaemon which works for all 3 of the above for doing this. It gives an error with xp because it hasn't been updated for xp yet, but it will still start the client.

There were some scripts floating about that would set the client up as a service for you too. One was written by Doc from OCAU. THey use to have it as a sticky in their forum but I haven't been there in a little while. I think there are several people here that are running it as a service successfully.

kendan I have the folder in "my" user program files it seems some programs will be shared (MBM) but other are not (photo shop).

Ploaf I will have to check into the service setup thing , thanks.

If you move it out of that and to a place that all users can access then you can set it up to autostart by putting a shortcut in all users startup. Hope this helps.

Also if you run it as a service then it will run even if no one is logged in.

I don't know about running it as a service but; I installed the graphical client on a W2k pc under the administrator profile. I then r-clicked on the start button and l-clicked explore all users. I went to administrator profile, start-up menu, programs and copied the folding@home dir. I then went to all users profile, start-up menu, programs and pasted the folding@home dir. Then go into folding@home dir and copy the shortcut. Still in all users, start-up menu, programs, goto startup folder and paste folding@home shortcut. This should now work for any user profile that has at least power-user privledges. I created a new user profile with just user priviledges and got in error on login and F@H shutsdown. Hope this answers some questions.
