i made a mistake and flashed dd-wrt to my wrt54gl with the wrong version. i was supposed to use the generic version if I wanted the webgui (which i do), but I only have telnet.

How in the world do i reflash it from telnet? I have the correct firmware on a windows share, but i don't know how to mount it or anything.

I really know nothing about how to use the shell. Read a wiki on it but it didn't help. it just said to use wget, but nothing more.

double checking. if i want the webgui of dd-wrt, I use the _generic.bin version for the wrt54gX series, right?

Follow the guide here (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Installation#Flashing_with_TFTP). It's really painless and saved my router one time when I couldn't access my gui on a botched firmware install.

I have no idea why I had no GUI, but after a couple hard-resets it seems to be okay.

Everything is good now.
