hello guyz. I just bought an athlon 1600xp+ and installed it on my epox 8kha+. It didnt start, so i started removing things one by one to see where the problem is(you see epox mainboard has 2 displays for errors :) ). After everything was taken out except for the processor, mobo was still not booting, but giving power to the fan and displays momentarily and shutting down again.
Then i decided to take out the processor too.
When i took it out i realised what a big mistake i did.
I used the thermal paste that came with the spire cooler, which has 10% silver inside..... As you all know silver is not electricity proof... so the paste got all over the cpu even though i put the smallest possible amount, and of course due to its silver nature, it must have ****ed the l1 bridges. Now my processor wont start, even after i bathed it in alcohol spirit and aceton. I dont know what more to do. I know that the processor worked before so i am really desperate now. what the hell should i do to completely whipe out the thing that makes this happen? thanks in advance guyz, and tell me something. The spire cooler is good? cause i use in on an tbird 1000 and mobo reports 41 celcium and the cooler is monstrous....
