DAOC...is it worth it?

I was an avid Everquest player for about 2 years. I was able to kick that habit about 4 months ago. Today being christmas I'm in the mood for a treat and have been looking at games on ebgames.com and checking out ign.vault to see what's popular right now. DAOC looks awesome, but is it worth it? ... and should I apologize to my girlfriend in advance?

It is soooo worth it bro, So much better than EQ. One big thing is no corpse running. THANK GOD. If you die you start where your bound, oh and everybody has the ability to bind but has to be at this rock with mushrooms around it, they are in every town. I was EQ player for awhile got my paladin up to 54 luclin couldn't save it. Also a big plus is graphics, it doesn't look cheesy like EQ, can we say repeating textures. The DAoC world looks like a world. Plus lag is minimal compared to EQ. Also you have realm to realm combat. Which is so cool, you get your guild or just a bunch of guys and attack an other realm just for kicks so cool. Realm to Realm is PVP but if you don't want that, just stick to your realm. Soloing is much easier when you just don't feel like grouping you can get excellent exp by yourself another plus. I am so glad I droped EQ and got this. Don't want to spoil to much of the game, discovering is half the fun. Also you get 30 day trail before they charge like EQ, so give it go.

oh little side note, just to clarify first sentence. You don't loose any of your stuff when you die. And you can go back to where you die and get some of your exp back by praying.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. Any suggestions on server selection? Any specialrules between servers I mean. I know that everquest had some special deity based PVP servers there at the end....just before I quest

Not to sure on any special rules, basically is coverned on what realm you pick. I play on Iseult <====(good server) as Azaroth if you play and need some help or a person to group get exp if its going to slow gimme a tell, most commands are the same from EQ. There are some special RPG servers they are at the bottom of the list most populated as I can see. I haven't explored other servers yet will try eventually, haveing to much fun now
