Table 6 on the Intel Thermal Design Guidelines for C2D says that the current draw for the CPU fan could be as high as 1.5A.

So does this mean that I could plug in my 120mm blowers to the cpu fan header?

Your MoBo Specs should include a total amperage rating or an amperage per port rating for the fan headers. Consider that some of these controllers are going through a voltage regulator to control fan speed, and that might limit total available amperage...

I'd assume any MoBo that is in compiance with the new spec would have to support the minimums at least...
