Good question---I have had phone conversation with a few
venders, but, they will not commit to a choice.

I have called some vendors and they gave me the specs off the chip. If they don't then find another one. I know my google gear chip was a Malay one. I reccomend other places.

I second that, google was hell getting a refund for a defective product...
Don't try Directron.com either. I got a Mayla OEM from them.
I saw them at buy.com for around $110, but that was a week ago. They might have had some xmas specials running...
newegg and mwave are very reputable places, and easy refunds for defective products!

compuplus.com also has the retail 1.2celeratins for $106, but I imagine that it is a Malay chip because it is retail.

There's nothing wrong with a Phillipines made or Malaysia made chip. Alot of people seem to take the notion that either one or the other is more superior against the other make. I'm telling you, it's the luck of the draw. Getting a Malay chip doesn't mean you'll have the best OC possibilities, as is the same with the Phillipines. Each chip is SLIGHTLY different from the next, so that difference could mean alot if it applies to OCing.
