I got my 1.4ghz 266 T-bird running with out any overclocking (yet), on a MSI K7T Turbo-R (limited edition) board with an Alpha pal8045 HS and a Sunon fan that it came with... And i'm hitting temps of 44-46c just on idle. I haven't come across any problems yet but when i was running my 1.2 T-bird with the same setup i had a 32c temp..... It might be the way i'm applying the thermal grease... i'm not sure... any diagrams or pics of exactly how much i should be applying would be great.

Go to http://www.articsilver.com and read the instructions on how to apply it and reapply it ASAP your temps are getting dangerous and your CPU might be in the 60's.

By the way how is the air flow in the case?

Thats not too bad. That is the problem with 1.4 t-birds is they run hotter. From what i understand the XP's fixxed that probelm a little and they runn cooler. Look at my signiture and as a note my temps only changed 2c after overclocking.

I have just replaced my duron 800 with a t-bird 1.4 266 yesterday. using an asus a7v can't get it past 13x 105. 14x multiplier not avalible I could redo the bridges using mc 462 hsf and don't want to take mb back out. these boards add to .5 vcore
and can't lower it where it should be so I would think that it would run hotter at 1365@1.808 than 1400@1.75 and my temps are 37c@idle and 40c running folding@ home for 2days.only 1 or 2
degrees hot than duron 800

res0r9lm,

How did you get a 1.4 Tbird 266 running on the A7V??? I heard that doesn't work so good. I myself got the A7V with 1.1 Tbird and I want to get a faster processor. My mobo is Rev 1.02 what is yours? Are you having any trouble with it? Can you even o/c with the 1.4? Please let me know

Thanks

:)

a7v won't run past 105 fsb atleast on my board (rev 1.02 bois 1009)if unlocked can use x5 it is actually x14 so that would give
only 1470 not much of an overclock for this chip the reason I got this one instead of the 1.4 200 is future upgrades you can probly
oc yours close to what i am running 1365 but won't be as easy to cool at full load 37c-41c depending on room temp with asus probe. what yours?
