Here it is. Just extract all 5 files into 1 dir and enjoy. plz post/pm me for comments, suggestions...
*EDIT*: This program will work only on computers with installed Visual Studio, a Visual Basic program, or if he downloads the install version (see below for link). If you are on dialup and don't feel like downloading 3MB, then you should try downloading vb5db.zip and extracting it into your \windows\system or system32 folder (I don't know if it'll work though)
Now who ever has VB or VB application installed just download the added file to this post, every one else click
here (www.pickleloaf.com/newwatt3.zip), Then u'll be able to download the file from there! Ploaf gave me the space on his server, so he gets the credits for the hosting
Please just download the file and don't delete it or something like that, it took us enough time to get the file there, thank you & enjoy
Update!!!! on the end of this post, look for the zip file. all u need to do is to unzip the five files into the directory u installed the program in, or u can use the link above and there is the same file to download from there.
01-20-2002: OK, this is the newest update (it has now the latest Tualatins also), so even if u downloaded the installation, u should download this file and replace the 1s u have installed in the dir of the NewWatt2
03-26-2002: Added the AthlonXP 2100+ to the AMD bunch.
PS: Go to the last post to get the zip file
07-01-2002: Added the T-Bred watt specs, Tualatin Celeron 1400, P4 Celerons 1700 and 1800, and P4 2266 and P4 2533
07-05-2002: I fixed some really stupid bugs that people from different regional settings were getting and some other bugs I noticed going around.
08-02-2002: I rebuilt the install file, now its the newest, all u gotta do is download and install... nothing else, for those who already have earlier version installed don't need to download, only if the want a "clean install" of that program.
PS. I also added CPU caches to the AMD part of the DB, I had no time to do it for Intel, if anyone has exact chart which specifies which CPUs had how much cache would be highly appriciated.
Click Here (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=410038) to download.

For some reason IE6 won't open the "no VB" link for me. The little globe just keeps spinning and spinning, making me a bit nausious, make the world stop spinning!! lol Anyway, I have changed the security settings to default, and cookie accepting to med-high (no third party cookies, etc.)
Is there something special I have to do to get this page to load?

Not to burst the bubble of your fantastic program, but I found this (http://www.benchtest.com/calc.html) through a google search. Yours is great if you are testing and can't get I/n access though...

You're not bursting any thing, I saw it months ago, and its kewl, have nothing bad to say. but my app, has a lil bit more info about the CPU and it calculates the O/C percent too

I didn't have any problems downloading or running the program. Very nice wattage calculator!!! I have often wondered what the watts were for my o/c'd Tualatin, but did not know how to calculate, or maybe I was too lazy.

Reread the first post, you will need to go to a link specified right the to storagevolt.com or something and use the username and password "overclockers" and download the 3MB version, install it, and then overwrite the existing files with the newer version

One suggestion would be to get rid of the Visual Basic dependency. Maybe use text files instead of database files or something. I'm not sure what you need to do, but more people will be able to use it if they don't need VB installed.

Ok, I got it working. It was not entirely clear what I needed to download. I thought you could just run the newest update...
I like it. My only suggestion is to lose the "enter the vcore you will be using" dialog box. It doesn't fit, as the cpu and speed are not entered with a dialog box in the same way.
With regard to the place where the info is entered on the left, I would suggest including the units, something like this:
New Speed (Mhz):
New Core Voltage (V):
Also, I got a type mismatch when I failed to enter a vcore in the dialog box. That can be fixed.
Otherwise, good job!
The program doesn't work on my Celeron 633@791. It detects my processor as Celeron (Mendocino) 300.

flounder43>> OK, the bug that you have mentioned was fixed, my problem right now is to detect the vcore, but as we all know it does fluctuate sometimes and it may detect the wrong vcore (if I ever get it working  ). Another problem is when you enter the vcore, it saves it in the registry so it can use it for the next time you run the program. I will have to find something to fix that I guess. but thanks, I'll add the units to the interface.
breez>> This program can not detect the exact CPU, because when you overclock it can detect the wrong one and you'll have wrong results, you have to select your CPU out of a list. There are all the relatively recent Intel & AMD CPUs there, from the first Celeron/PII & from the AMDs K6 series.

But it shows only one processor on the list. And that's the Celeron (mendocino) 300.

hmmm... that sounds a bit wierd, in the AMD cpu selection are u getting all the CPUs? from K6s to Tbreds? If so try to redownload and extract & overwrite only the "Intel CPU.mdb" file and see if it works?

In the AMD cpu selection I only get K6-2 233. It's really weird. And if I try to calculate something it crashes to:
Run-time error '11':
Division by zero

Have you downloaded the full 3MB version and install it first? then you should update to the file linked in the first post

Yes, I have.
btw, I'm running on W98 if that is important.
edit: And I have had Visual Basic 5 and 6 installed on my system but they are now uninstalled.

that is really strange I don't know what could cause this issue, if u installed the full version and already even had VB installed, I'll look into that, I don't think that its a Win98 issue because I tested it on a lot of machines on different windows versions and it worked great. Sorry. If you have another machine you could test it with?
The VB was uninstalled long ago before this program.
I can test the program with another computer tomorrow.

OK, cool lemme know tomorow then
Okay, I've tested the program with another machine. Unfortunately the same problem occurs on that machine too.
The 2nd system:
Duron 900
384 SDRAM
Abit KT7A-RAID
Windows 2000 professional
Found the problem. The regional setting of my systems are finnish. I changed the setting to English (United States) and now the program works perfectly!
Although you should fix this bug as I don't want switch between the settings if I need to use the program. It would be OK, but windows wants a reboot when changing the regional setting.
I think what could be the problem. In Finland we use "," instead "." as a decimal symbol.

ok, thanks as lot, I'll look into that ASAP

hey, The Coolest, great app...thx
works "correct" for my 2 cel-t's.
the only file i need is Vb5db.dll (http://www.cigicigionline.com/dll/vb5db_www.cigicigi.com.zip) on win98SE.
when closing the app i have this message, but no problem.
translation: "Runtimeerror 5: invalid procedure call or invalid argument"

OK, thanks for the "Debugs" :p, I'll look in all those problems, I just started working today, so I'll work on it on saturday or tommorow, keep 'em coming :p
BTW: Rio71 when u restart the program again, does it select the correct CPU from the list, and puts in ur speed in the New Speed (mhz): textbox?

Well, breez, I tracked down and found the problem being in the decimal sign, USA setting uses "." and Finnish is using "," so I fixed it and it works now.
Rio71>> Thatnks for that file dude, I'll upload it to the storagevolt.
I hope that I fixed the problem that you were talking about, please check it out

Thanks...
Try as I might, can not get into the Storagevault. Says that overclockers is an invalid password/username. Where else can this program be had?
I GET IT FOR YA!!!:D ...EVERYTHING IS INSIDE THE FILE...
P.S. READ > README FILE...:D
Thank you, really appreciate it. I did get hold of a copy but it would not recognize my processor. I will give this one a go as I know he is working to keep it updated. Take Care and will let you know.

Well. the thing is that storage vault will no longer host free accounts so it closed mine :(
I PMed Skip asking him to give me the requiered space for the installation file, many of the errors are caused because you just need to install/reinstall it. I hope that what hipro5 posted will work for you.. If not hang in there, I'm trying to get another host to get that file up and available to all again
