1. Is there a "better" way to hook up the optical cable to the back of the 360? That pos cable does not lock the cable in at all and my optical keeps coming loose. It is very annoying.

2. I have rock band, and enjoy it. But the guitar is a POS compared to the GHIII guitar I have on my WII. I am wondering if I purchase GHII for the 360, can I use the GHIII guitar with rock band?

--pak1) Mine does not come out, see if you have another cable.

2) Unless they have the exact key mapping, no. I doubt it will work either way.

1. Mine doesn't come out either. Try taping it, maybe?

2. Yes. Rock band will work with GH controllers, but not the other way around. http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/digitaljoystick/archives/126756.asp (The google cache chart they reference doesn't work)

My TOS cable is fine as well. **** Rock Band and Guitar Hero, Official Xbox magazine has a big writeup concerning the interopobility of the two and it only serves to further confuse.

Activision have put a block on Rock Band company Harmonix releasing a patch so they can use it's GHIII peripheral for there game on PS3 & 360.

I am not sure if it will work now but there has been no new news on whether they have been allowed to release it.

I read about this just the other day, but the block was only supposed to be for the PS3 version. XBox 360 already works and doesn't require a patch. At least here in the US.
