xp pencil trick why not....??????????

just wondering im hearing around the net that if you use white out and a pencil to connect the bridges it will unlock the chip..Is this true ???????????????

i think u need a different type of lead pencil besides #2 but i dont know what kind

It won't work, even if you fill the pits. The graphite in the pencil is too much of a resistor. You have to use something like windshield defogger repair kit, which can be had at a store like Canadian Tire for about $8.00

u know u would think it would be cheaper in the states sence most of the time u guys pay about 25% more then us sence u have bigger paychecks LOL but i paid 8 bucks also at PEPBOYS easy to do and come off easly with actone (or nail pollish remover)..

i have heard of someone doing it with tipex and a pencil but it wasent #2 lead it was like B or something....

Don't know how much different the XP's are. But I used pencil on my Duron to unlock it. It's been fine for a few months now. Unless the XP's are a little different. I don't know. never checked into them.

yeah the pencil trick works on the normal athlons and durons but the xp has gaps between the bridges and an internal pull down so #2 pencils have to much resistance but i said up there that there might be a different type of pencil that might work i am not sure what kind but i know some one has done it
