I've seen the error in my ways. :eek:

To change teams do I just change my team number in the .cfg file?

I've looked on folding@home and don't see anything I should change there. Please ppint me to the right place if I need to do something there.

Thanks. :beer:

stop the client
change the team # to 32 in the config file
start the client back up. Now any work units produced will be for T32.

Thanks, I did that but wanted to make sure that was all that was needed. :beer:

Glad to have you back deeppow, now if you would just kindly persuade the[H]orde's 1144 active folders to do the same, we could use the help to ward off MPC's advance on T32's aft-quarters. ;)

Welcome to the team, deeppow!

You can change the fields in FAH's client.cfg file, but you have to be careful:

[settings]
username=Adak◙
team=32◙
asknet=no◙

That funny little character at the end of each line quoted above, is in your client.cfg file, and separates the record's fields, by indicating the end of the line of text, for FAH.*

No funny little character after the team number, and FAH will have you folding for team 0 (default), in no time! :cry:

To see the "funny little character", open Notepad and click on Format=>Font and select "Terminal". Now you can see the funny little characters, in all their, (?glory?).

Be REAL careful, if you delete one of these "funny little characters", you can't replace it with a normal editor, like Notepad. At that point, it's best to just delete the client.cfg file entirely. FAH will create a new one by going into it's configuration mode, as soon as you start it up again.

*On Linux/Unix, it's a newline character, but on Windows, it's not used at all.

You can't create them, but you can copy/paste them, so no need to delete the file.

Windows text files use a different system to denote a new line as opposed to Linux/Unix.

Linux/Unix only uses a "Carriage Return" where Windows uses a "Carriage Return & Line Feed" to denote new lines. To VB programmers that constant is "vbCrLf". ;)

I recommend using Metapad (http://www.liquidninja.com/metapad/) to manually edit your client.cfg files. It is an enhanced Notepad clone that will natively work with Linux/Unix style text files. :thup:

Never mind, it actually just changed itself and added T32.

Hummmm.. If I go to http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=userpage&username=deeppow to see status, the team remains my old one and doesn't reflect the new work for T32.

Does the fah-web site change after awhile or can I change it? Certainly not a big deal, just curious. Thanks. :beer:
