First off thanks to the members of this forum for educating me. After a bit of research I decided to try to overclock a bit and see how it goes. I have a ;
900 Tbird
a7v (not the 133 or e, just plain a7v)
ati rage fury pro vid card
mismatched 133 mem (different brands and sizes a nono I know)

What I really wanted was to get my bus speed up to 133 to match the memory, not necessarily a big increase in overall mhz, maybe up to about 1 gig. I figured that alone would give me a substantial improvement without taxing the system excessively, everything should be still operating in specs right?
since it was only experimental I went ahead and tried the pencil technique to unlock my cpu, and, wow it worked, I could now boost both the fsb and multiplier which I couldnt do before WOOHOOO. I was dissapointed however, the highest fsb I could post at was 113, no higher, and windows wouldnt even boot reliably, even with the multiplier set to 6. In the forums other guys seem to have no problem getting the fsb far higher. I've gotten it to run at 105*9.5 seemingly well, but the vid card doesnt seem happy. It was already suspect though, and I dont really understand how agp, vid cards and fsb relate yet.
SOOO I guess my point is is there something I'm missing? as long as the overall mhz remain in check shouldnt I be able to run 133 on a system designed for it (all but the cpu I guess). Heat doesnt seem to be an issue, rock steady at 46c with my most demanding application, according to asus probe.
Any input, advice or help for this over clocking newbie would be appreciated.
Thanks :p
