i just tried OCing my AMD 1700+ by increasing the bus speed to 140 (so 1540 = 1800+) everything seemed to be ok. mb detected 1800+, things ran fine for about an hour. i went downstairs for another hour, come back and the monitor shows a very bad red color shift to the right. i moved the monitor to another computer and its the same. i installed a new monitor and the display is fine. nevertheless, i downgraded the cpu back to normal just in case... the hitachi monitor just passed the end of warranty (september) - of course!

Welcome to the forums...
No, overclocking your system won't damage the monitor. That was just a coincidence.
And BTW, this should be posted in General Hardware
