I have 2 x SAS hard disk (15K rpm and yes, I think it would be fast too :bday:) BUT I only have the interface card for PCI-X.

How do I get it running on my PC? Get a SAS interface card which is using PCI-E? If so, what is the cheapest around?

If there is a converter from SAS to SATA or any sort of mod, that would be better still.

Couple of options:

1) Most PCI-X HBAs will run in standard PCI slots. This will limit you to about 115MB/s and have increased latency.

2) Purchase PCI-E SAS controller. Not inexpensive, expect to pay upwards of 150.00 for a decent low end controller.

3) Most SAS controllers will accept SATA drives. Somehow, it just doesn't work the other way.

Thanks Xaotic but the PCI-X SAS controller I have wouldn't fit on my current PCI slot, do they?
