I ordered Club 3D nVidia GeForce 8800GT 512Mb DDR3 Dual DVI/HDMI Out thinking the card comes with HDMI connection and turns out the are DVI connection with HDMI cable.

So does it make a different having HDMI connection or using DVI to HDMI cable?
because my understanding HDMI has audio element ... is that correct !!!

Thanks

It'll work fine. My friend has a DVI-to-HDMI cable running from his 8800GTX to 22" widescreen and it looks great.

AFAIK the difference between HDMI and DVI is that one carries audio and one does not.

You will need a seperate audio link to your TV. HDMI will carry audio if the video card supports it. The only cards that will do audio are a few ATI cards.

I would gone with ATI but they are not wall supported in Linux this way I got 8800GT.

Anyway I can live with separate audio connection as long as the video picture is good.

Thanks guys.
