Hey guys - out of all the things in the overclocking & pc hardware topics, storage is my worst fear. So hopefully you can help me.

I purchased an all new system (DFI 790FX board, 4 500 GB Sata II hd's, 2x 3870 vid cards etc).

Basically, im putting everything together from scratch, but I'm lacking a Floppy drive on my system. I will only be using an IDE DVDRW drive. From what I understand, the PC will read the Sata II drives when they are turned on in the bios, but without a floppy during the Windows XP/Vista install, will I be able to use 2 hard drives in a Raid 0 configuration?

You will either need to temporarily connect a floppy and setup windows, or Slipstream the drivers into the install disc.

Can I take the contents of the Raid Drivers, and burn them to a CD-rom and just use a 2nd CD-rom drive to install it during the <f6> portion of windows installation?

I just bought a $10 floppy drive that I leave in my kit for just such occasions.
I was afraid to try the slipstream route..........

Unsure about the CD route... never tried it, but I suspect not. I think the way MS has it set up... it just looks for a floppy. I do the same thing as Tom, and hang one off the saide when required.

Slipstream the drivers on the XP CD as suggested - use nLite and add the raid drivers as Textmode drivers, and burn a new ISO. You won't even have to press f6 when you install!

If you decide to go with a Floppy, get a USB one for like $5 more. They are very convenient...
