View Full Version : Duron 900mhz
I have a AMD Duron 900mhz cpu running stable @ 990mhz with CPU FSB(110*9). I can get it to boot at 1008mhz(112*9) by changing bios settings, but it isn't stable in Windows XP. Any suggestions on getting it to run at 1008mhz stable?(I gotta hit that 1gighz barrier:cool: )
AMD Duron 900mhz@990mhz(42C)
Coolermaster 6I11A Heatsink/Fan
ECS k7s5a(overclocking bios)
512mb pc 133 sdram
ATI Rage Fury Pro VIVO 32mb
is it unlock? it it is, then try lowering the multiplier and up the fsb. Also give it some more core voltage.

scotty we need more power... I'll her give all shes got captain...up your voltage to about 1.8 and your durons gonna be singing that sweet harmony!
How do i change the voltge with the ECS k7s5a motherboard?
short answer: you don't
long answer: you can't
You can get it to 1.85volts by connecting all L7 bridges - there will be something about it on the front pages.

I did the pencil trick on the L1 bridges, nothing.
I think I am gonna give up, I am just asking to burn something up.
Thanx for the replies anyway.

NOT the L1's (ones) Its the L7's (sevens)......doh!
here are the voltages you get when you connect them.
Be careful :
More voltage - more heat. There is actually an equation for that...wait a mo.
Heat produced = voltage x current x time
So by adding .2v, you increase heat production per second by (0.2current) Watts

I dont think he'll have to worry to much about heat. Ive got my 800duron at maxvoltage, with a cheapo heatsink, and no case fans at all-( i do leave a side panel off) and it runs at a steady 43 degress. not bad for a 200mhz overclock.
I have two case fans + 1 PSU and my tbird does 31C usually. My duron did about 32C at 696MHz with no case fans
