I need a card so I can at least use my rig until the new nVidia 9xxx cards come out. I've been offered a couple X1900XT 512MBs for $100, and had a few question.
First off, are these the exact same as the X1950XTs except for the slower clock speeds? As in do they have the same amount of pipelines and shaders?
Also is $100 a fair price?
In order to increase the voltage, do you need to do a hardmod or can you just adjust the volts by modifying the BIOS? I realize there are a few stickys on this card, but I don't want to read through all 2000 posts  Thanks
Socket eh?

The only difference with the 1950's is the gddr 4 vs. gddr3 memory. It's barely faster stock for stock and all the voltage options are via ATT or ati tool. $100 a piece would be a good deal, but $100 for two is rediculous.
Well, I don't know the differences between 1950XT and 1900XT but I used to have 1900XTX and it was an amazing card. The only difference between the 1900XT and 1900XTX were the clocks. You can achieve similar clocks with both cards, though 1900XTX comes with faster memory (by .1ns, I think).
You can use ATITool to modify the voltage.

Used to have a X1900XT myself, overclocked like a beast. I had it watercooled so I'm not sure what you might be able to get out of it with the stock cooler but I imagine it would still do pretty well. Overall it was an amazing card, and like socket said $100 a piece is a pretty good deal.
As far as differences, the cards are pretty similar. The only real differences are GDDR4 on the x1950xt vs GDDR3 on the x1900xt. Aside from that the only difference I see is the cooler, the x1950xt's cooler is a monster. Never used the stock cooler on my x1900xt so I really can't say anything about it's cooling power but it looks like it should do fine.

Ok, looks like I'll be grabbing one then until the 9800GTX (G100) comes out.
