Since my current computer was build when the ATI 9800XT just came out, I am building a new $1000 ranged computer. I'm not going to bore you all with the specs, but I became worried when I realized that my RAM has a 5-5-5-18 timing on it. I am planning on getting the Intel E8500 and hoping to hit 4.0-4.2GHz on air, but am worried that this ram timing will mess that up. Here is a link to the ram that I purchased: http://shop3.outpost.com/product/5269577;jsessionid=pFLcXfjljO-OxKDRRPpiFA**.node3?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

According to Corsair's website, it is spec'd as to having a 5-5-5-18 timing at 1.8V.

Anyone else have these or have anything good/bad to say about them?

P.S.
I have been trolling these forums for about a month now, but this is my first post. Hi everyone!

I have a related Corsair set. That's a great price for a 2x2 set, don't worry about the latency. It's a little high, but it shouldn't limit your clocking. Take the processor as high as it'll go on those loose timings, then see what you can do about tightening them up. That's also the 1.8v rating, you can probably do a little better with more volts..

Oh yeh, welcome!

I can get 3.6 with my setup and no problems at all, maybe higher but my temps are bad. But at 3.6 I can't budge the timings at 2.1v. At 3.3 I can only go to 5-4-4-12 and not a notch below or else I get errors. But the price is good. I bought a set of these a few months ago when they were $200 or $160-ish at Newegg with rebate and unfortunately didn't even use the rebate. At that price, not a bad deal but the price I paid, I was disappointed.
