These are all the experiences with a Celeron 566 cB0 using my old slot1 motherboards:

Soyo 6VBA133 ViaApollo133: 566@705 1,6V stable, WinME doesnt boot @850
Asus P2V ViaApollo100: 566@892 1,9V stable
Asus P3C2000 i820: 566@912 1,9V stable
Jetway 7BXAS i440BX: 566@953 1,9V stable

'stable' means: running heavy games (Max Payne, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, QuakeIII...for hours) and benchmarks (Cpu Burn, Toast, 3dMark2000).
I dont get higher results raising the voltage up to 1,95 or 2,00V.
Actually i'm running the system @953 but i havent got any kind of temp check and udma 66/100 :(
Heatsink: a simple Titan Majesty gold and thermal paste. Added a 12cm case fan. 256MB generic PC133. Geforce2 MX 200. SB Audigy player.

In the end Batboy was right saying the motherboard is the real heart of a pc.

If you don't know your temps bring it down a notch you'll defintely hit 900 with 1.7v or 1.75v if able to go 1.9v and 950.

Agreed...with one caveat!

I use one of the same boards and CPU as you. On my Soyo SY-6VBA133 motherboard, my cB0 566 runs to 995 as stable as I could hope for. Goes to 1020 but can't quite finish a 6hour 3Dmark loop test at that speed. All this with a simple FOP32 on it. Default volts up to 935, needs 1.9v to get past there.

Not sure why your copy of the 133 doesn't want to work very well...it's been the most stable board I've ever owned. Not the fastest chipset, but I get more OC with it than any other board.

Hi Max,
I suggest you to use an external thermal sensor, with Lcd panel, inbetween the Cpu & the Heatsink to check the temps, you can found this kind of stuff in a lot of electronic shop.

Something like this one:
