:welcome: to the forums!!

That will work fine ;)

I don't know how new you are to F@H but there is a previous user with a name the same as yours, save the capital "P".

I'm going to assume you're new to F@H... and thus I must say, :welcome: to Team 32!

Looks like you are using the v6 beta1 Console Client and running two copies to maximize the use of your 170. Your setup will run fine but you could tweak a couple things.

Interval, in minutes, between checkpoints (3-30) [15]? 15

If this machine will basically run 24x7 on F@H then it's best to minimize the disk writes and set this option to the maximum 30.

Memory, in MB, to indicate (2047 available) [2047]? 1024

You could go ahead and set this to the maximum available value. All this option does is report the memory available on the machine to Stanford. It in no way limits the amount of memory F@H will use to run. At a maximium each instance on this client will use ~100mb, so you're not looking at a very large footprint when running on 2GB. If you set this value to say, 256MB, then Stanford would likely not send you the best, largest work as the system resources look limited and that work would likely bog down the machine. Again, you're fine here but I think a lot of people misread this option so I wanted to clear it up.

Set -advmethods flag always, requesting new advanced scientific cores and/or work units if available (no/yes) [no]? Yes

Nothing wrong with this option, it can result in obtaining different kinds of work. Depending on the WU mix the best ppd (points per day) may be obtained with this flag set yes or no... you'll just have to experiment with it. Over and above that you want to make sure you're setup for Big WUs (work units) which you are. Those garner the most points.

That was me last year, at PimpRig.

It won't be a 24/7, but it will be up a fair bit.
I will also have a 2.4GHz Core Duo and a 3.0Ghz P4.

I will be changing the amount of memory, now that I know.

I would just make sure you've got the username key'd in as "p4user" with the lower case "p". This will ensure all your previous points w/other teams are rolled up with your contributions here.

Again, :welcome: to Team 32! We're glad you decided to Fold here with us!

It definitely is a lower case "p". Just when I was typing it in word and pressing enter, it would change the case.

Machine ID (1-16) [1]? 1 (of course 2 for the second core)

Second core? Dual core? Run SMP instead?

Not on 24/7 so it's not safe to run SMP.

@ harlam,
It currently makes no difference in WUs assignments if reported memory is > 650 MB. However, in principle on a machine running two instances, each instance should report that it has only a percentage of available ram, the two totaling the actual ram or less. If at some point in the future, FAH put out a monster WU, requiring 1200 MB of ram, you just might not want two of them. It is an unlikely senario with a 2 Gig system but it could catch you on a 1 gig system, sort of like the old QMDs blasted everyone running 2 instances on a 512 MB system.
