Price is not an option (Unless were talking 10k or something) Im looking for ease of use and self explanatoin (Its for my boss and the only thing he knows how to use is excel and AOL) So please everyone who has a free sec and an opinion let me know what you think of these or other programs for web development. MS Frontpage and Dreamweaver are the only gui type, do it all for you web development programs I've used. Of the two, I'd have to go with FrontPage.

My thoughts exactly. Between the two I would also choose FrontPage.

I would personally have to go with Dreamweaver as it makes generally brouser neutral webpages unlike Frontpage which produces webpages that generally look poor in any browser other than Internet Explorer and considering that this is a business website, you could loose customers because ofthis fact. Frontpage also produces bloated pages with poor coding. Frontpage is easier to use than dreamweaver, but is less flexible.. and this is why I would suggest Dreamweaver with a little hand coding to tidy things up.

Once again Dreamweaver is the way to go, awesome prog and pretty easy to use.
They also have an Online How-to.

My $0.02

I go back & forth between FrontPage2000 & Dreamweaver3.

FrontPage is really easy to use, & actually does have a command for making it viewable for all browsers.(IE,Netscape,Etc.)

If your new at web design, FrontPage2000 or higher is the way to go.

Hope that helps some...

While sites created with frontpage are viewable in all browsers, the pages it creates generally look poor when viewed in anything other than a Microsoft browser imho

I agree totally...from experience. FrontPage caused some wierd errors w/ a frame site I had made awhile back on Netscape.-The left menu reproduced itself all the way across the screen!-wierd!

I'll say it again though...Front Page is the easiest to use for newbies at web design...just so long as they stay away from the dhtml, & frames site tools.

Unseen'-have you ever used Adobe web products? I'm kinda curious...:eh?:

One drawback to Frontpage is that you really do need to have the Frontpage extensions installed on the webserver. Unless you already have the Frontpage extensions you would probably be better off going with Dreamweaver, Frontpage is a little easier to use but Dreamweaver isn't difficult to learn for doing the basics.
