Simpsons video game is awesome

I've been playing this all day (360 version) since I got the 120th star in Mario Galaxy and was disgusted about having to get all 120 again as Luigi...but I digress.

I haven't watched more than a handful of Simpsons episodes in the last 5 years and though the movie was pretty much just okay. The game however is like revitalizing the franchise and I'll bet a lot of people skipped it just because the show has become so dull recently. BIG mistake.

The game is semi free-roaming, but mostly platforming and revolves around the Simpsons characters knowing they're in a video game. I can't stop laughing at this game as there are sooooooo many pop culture references and video game references in it that it is unbelievable. If there has been a movie or game popular in the last 30 years, it is here and they make fun of it. The graphics are so good it is literally like playing an episode. There is cutscenes between levels that were animated by the cast and crew of the TV show just for the game too. It's pretty amazing.


I'm not going to give away all the jokes, at least give it a rental and you'll not be sorry.

Yeah I played it only a little I like Homer's Mega Burp and how as it says in the title "The Easiest Achievement Ever" just press start to gain it. Could of made it better like just buy putting the disc in the drive lol.

I was considering in getting it myself I used to watch the simpsons alot about a year ago now I've stopped just seem boring to me now.

I beat it on the PSP. I was going to make a post about it myself. The game is buggy and glitchy as all hell... But the cutscenes are HILARIOUS.

360 is not glitchy and graphics are just like the TV show...... Hard to compare with PSP and Wii I guess....

The demo on Xbox Live was Glitchy... I find it hard to believe the full game wouldn't be. At any rate: It's definately not worth $60 and I've never seen it on sale.

I agree that it's worth a rental... if you can get that rental cheap enough.

arg, I wish it would come for the PC, I'd like to play it and my daughter would as well. She still plays Simpson's: Hit and Run all the time. Not that it was really a good game, but being 6, she loves it.

well in the wii version i made it just past the place where you had to climb that giant cake or what ever it was, then i put it aside couldnt be bothered with the controls any more

I like the game. The only thing I dont like is how multi player is set up. It is really a single player game then you can have someone help you out. Then when your done with them, they have to sit there and watch.

I finished it last night (of course not 100% completion with all achievements) and it just keeps getting better and better until the end. I almost had a total geekgasm at the next to last level. If you play it and don't like it, play past the damned alien invasion level and it gets phenpomanally better after that.

yeah, it's alright...the voice overs are faaaaar to frequent so that gets annoying. Homer seems to say the same 10 things over and over and over. It is fun to play as a simpson character though, so I'd really like to give this new game a try. I'm sure it's far more polished than Hit and Run as well. maybe some day I'll have a console (most likely a Wii).
I just got a 50% raise at work so hopefully that will aid in me getting to upgrade my PC and getting a few more things I want every now and again. :)


EDIT: Ok sorry, it's late. I read road rage and was thinking hit and run. So ummm yeah. Time for jivetrky to goto bed!

This game is light years better than that one.

All the charaters say different stuff all the time it never gets repetitive. Well, the enemies don't have a lot to say and their dialog is VERY repetitive, but not the Simpsons characters.
