Should I get more memory

Ok depending on price, which would be the best option

1. 2 Sticks 512 pc150 and give my old ram to my brother

2. 1 Stick 512 pc150 with my 2x256 pc133

3. 1 Stick 512 pc133 with my 2x256 pc133

I am looking at getting one gig of memory just because, and I also want to it to be cheap. I am not to sure about the prices of each.

Well you want more the one stick of anything you get, just incase your stick dies on you. If you only have one sitck and it dies you are SOL until you can get another. 1GB of ram is nice I had 2GB of ram in my system, and found I didn't use butj 300MB at extreme loads so it really isn't worth it. I ended up selling it and going with 256*2 and still was running fine. Used my Ram as a paging pool instead of my HD and never had a problem. If you go with 2 sticks of 256 you will be fine. But if you are greedy like me you want it all. Make sure your MOBO will handle it also. SOme MOBO don't like all the slots filled and will give you snzhit for it.

You also don't want to mix up the ram like you have. 512PC150 with 2*256 PC133 that will also cause you problems. Either leave the 2*256 or go with 2*256 PC150 or 2*512 PC150 or 2*256PC133 and 512 PC133.

thanks i will have to decide soon so i might just stick with 512 and get a stick of pc150, but if not then i am going to get a stick of 512 pc133
