What kind of performance increase should I expect when upgrading from my 1.2T-bird to the 1800XP? Will it be significant?
Thanks

That really depends on what apps you run. For surfing, word processing etc., no not really. Games and image rendering/3D, for sure you will notice a big difference.

Hehehe. Precisely? :) I know the 1.53 is 127% of 1.2, but with the additional instructions (SSE) I should see what kind of an average increase in game performance?
Thanks again:)

Well I'm not a gamer but if you run apps that utilize SSE, which alot of games do, you should see a HUGE difference in performance, probably like 75% vs the 1.2.
I would say you will see a nice bit of improvement but not 75% faster. you could check at madonion.com for results and compare the averages and see if your favorite game will show improvements.

DONT do it, thats a huge waist of money, wait till the XP2200 CPU's come out and then youll notice a improvement for sure. Thats a waist to jump only 333MHz in a processor. Jump at least 600MHz

I Disagree...
A) If you have a GF3, Or GF2 GTS Your not going to NOTICE Any Difference from a 1.2 and a 1.8 XP ( True clock 1.58?) You can probably get that 1.2 Clocked to atleast 1333 Stable...
Benchmarking score's shure..
Gaming.. Negative.
Personally, Over 1Ghz I See NO Difference, The processor is already going to fast.... You wont even notice it.
