Has anyone heard anything on spore yet?
I've heard a rumor that Will Write was going to make an announcement about spore and it wasn't going to be good news.
I've heard he was going to postpone spore for another year.
It looks like a revolutionary game -- but I am unsure whether it will be good or not.
If they need more time, they need more time. I'd much rather have a complete game than an EA quality game.

I think I'd rather have a complete game then an ea gamewith lots of bugs and patches as well.
I just hope a demo will come out to wet our whistles though.

EDIT
http://www.xspore.com/news/321_new_year_2008.html
In order to avoid being redundant - this year we're not going to anticipate the release of Spore. Exactly 1 year ago we posted this article (http://www.xspore.com/news/89_xspore_2007.html) in which we stated "May this be the year" that we get our hands on Spore and obviously that was a bigger let down than the skin of Michael Jackson. So instead, we're just going to wish everyone a happy new year and perhaps it will bring us better karma this time around - Spore? what is that?

Seriously.. by the time they release this.. its gonna be seriously anti-climatic and a major letdown since the engine they are running off of is at least 2-3 years old by now

I'm not looking forward to spore for breakthrough graphics. I want to play the game for revolutionary gameplay, there hasn't been a game that takes on this kind of scale with such completeness before. I also want to see how everything looks with the way animations and textures are created for your creatures procedurally.

I have a feeling that this is a game the will constantly need to be updated throughout its lifetime.
This game has universal appeal because of the concept; and the gameplay will need to adhere to it. Also, graphics cannot be too amazing because people who don't have high-end gear will make up a large portion of the people who play spore.
Your girlfriend will roll her eyes at Crysis, but kick you off the computer for Spore:p
