Ok I'm building a a box to fit under my Rig to house three fans. I know how wide to make it and how long to make it but have no idea how tall to make it. Does anyone know how many inches high a 120mm fan is. Not the size of the circle but from outer edge to outer edge.

Ok cool thanks. Now I can do the plans on paper so I know what I'm dealing with. This is the idea about 6" high x 8 1/2" wide x 16 3/4 long. In the front will be a YS-Tech 131c.f.m 120mm fan and at top will be two Sunon 50c.f.m 80mm fans.

If you have the cash to waste, you could get a "Vernier caliper". Just a carpentry one one will do, the machinist ones are way more expensive (very accurate, but more expensive). It's an indispensible tool when modding, and making custom components. Shouldn't be more than $10 - $20.

You can get plastic ones from the dollar stores round here, more accurate than using just a ruler at least, wouldn't use one to check tolerances when rebuiling an engine, but for cut to fit general workshop tasks they're fine.

Hehehe, yeah I know. The one's I have to check engine parts cost me over $300 each. But like we said, to measure the regular stuff they work just fine.

So with what I said before does that sound about right. Making thee box 16 3/4" long 8 1/2" wide and 6" high. My case is 16 3/4" long and 8 1/2" wide so thats where I came up with that part.
