Hey,

Below I have put the rig specs that are currently folding.

6 Rigs Dedicated to folding only.
2 - P4 2.4, 512mb, Windows XP
4 - Dual Core 3.0, 512mb, Windows XP

4 Rigs are a combination of work PC's and servers at work, these fold when they are not doing other tasks.
2 - P4 2.8 HT
2 - Xeon 2.0 Servers

All of the pc's above are running the windows GUI interface nothing fancy.

Now my 2 power pc's are as follows

C2D e6600 Clocked at 3.4 water cooled gaming PC XP
C2Q q6600 Clocked at 2.8 Air cooled File Server/Media Center Server 2k3

Both of these are running the SMP Clients.

I just ordered 3 more rigs nothing fancy but will do the job. I just have to find a place for them either at work in the server room or at home in the crawl space that is yet to be determined. These 3 rigs will be running Linux OS with the Linux SMP client. The processors are C2D e6400 with 512mb, Asus mobo, 350 PSU, 10GB HD (old school) and a cheap case total was about $225 a rig. End of the year tax deduction :) put to a good cause.

From the 12 rigs that are running I was seeing around 1200 to 1600 PPD with the C2D e6600 folding only for 4 hours a day. Hopefully I can see about 2000 PPD with all 14 running 24/7 and my gaming rig 4 hours daily.

Now some of you will ask if I got permission to run the clients on my work pc's well I am the Network Admin and head honcho of the facility so I really do not need permission to do this as I make the decisions. (I know bragging a bit Sorry not intentional)

If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.

Rich

:welcome:

If your Q6600 is a G1 stepping then you should be able to take her up to 3.2G provided the Mobo will run the FSB.

You mentioned crawl space  now my crawl space has the true meaning that many things crawl and hang out down there. How much room do you have and how well closed off is it?

As for permission, if you have the owner of the companies permission or you have the latitude to make the decision on what runs on serven and uses networking then it's good to go.

The crawl space is well closed off so no out of the ordinary creepy crawler's there. Just your regular spiders that's about it that I have seen. I think I will run them from home for the time being and if they do start to see heat then I will transfer them to work and store them in the server room.

As for my Q6600, I know I can take it to those speeds but I need this reliable as it runs my house network and Video feeds at home so just a little overclock on that server.

Visionco, it looks like you're pretty set up, there.

It'll be fun to watch your climb up the team rankings.

I was surprised to see the GUI as your version of choice at work. I'm thinking ease of managing it was your primary concern, then?

You are right about the ease of managing. If a folding machine goes down for one reason or another than just a restart and it does what it is supposed to do.

Other than that I am glad to be folding for TEAM 32 and its time to do some reading.

Thanks to all that said hi:beer::beer:
