ok People here is a challenge for someone out there figure out why this card the gainward geforce 3 ti 200 on a epoxy ak7a..reading in PCI mode... The system has been reinstalled 3 times and it still reads PCI mode.. I have updated the bios and the drivers to the latest and for a reason or another I can't figure out why this reads in PCI mode. I have the bios set in AGP for video and I have the newest drivers installed several times and still no luck.. It may be a simply problem that I am overlooking but its a problem that I can't figure out for the life of me I have been working on it for 3 days now and I can't seem to get this guys system to read in agp mode.. someone out there PLEASE HELP... overclocker is in need of some assistance..:D

hey wolfsid...
i think i'm slightly confused. what do you mean by "agp mode" and "pci mode".
agp and pci are just two different interfaces that the card plugs into.
do you mean the agp card is reading at 1x, instead of 2x or 4x?
sorry, i'm a bit confused.

Ok I think I can clarify... there is a listing in the display properties that tells you what bus the vid card is running on... AGP or PCI compatability mode... the card is still in the agp slot... just running in PCI compat. mode.

ahhh, clearly think i now...er...
so the problem is only that a proggie like sandra is reporting it as pci mode? running at pci speed? or is it a driver option that you cant switch to agp mode?
i guess i was thinking it was a hardware or OS problem. if it's drivers or whatnot, having never dealt with that card, i doubt i can be of help.

where exactly (what program) does it tell you it's running in pci mode?
pci should run at 33mhz. agp should run at 67mhz, 2x at 134mhz, etc.
i dont know that it's possible to run your agp at 33mhz, which leads me to believe i am not following what you mean by pci mode.

in the window video property menu bus type pci when in its the agp card... the kids benchmarks are low meaning that its reading on 33 that is pci... I need to fix thanks HOW?

Hello folks. I have had this problem on the board for some time now. Wolfsid was and Wildone are kind enough to help try to fix it. we have had absolutely no luck in fixing this problem.
the problem (1):
My 3DMark2001 scores are around 5400 +/- 200. I have been told by everyone and their mother that this score is just plain LOW for my GF3Ti200.
the problem (2):
Rt. click on desktop > properties > advanced > chipset tab
See where it says bus type on you Display Properties? See next to it, AGP? well, I have agp too, except next to that i have "(PCI Mode)" which leads me to believe that the card is running slow.
What we've tried:
I have done a full format, and reinstall of windows2000
bios reads AGP for init display
latest nvidia drivers
...basically, all other gainward owners have AGP mode, whilst i have PCI Mode....
ask wolfsid or wildone for more details....i am clueless, i just know what we tried and what the problem is...thanx!
Hey guyz I dont know if this will help or not,But got my Radeon 7200 out of PCI mode, it was listed in Win2k under device properties but After turning off Video BIOS shadow and setting INit Display first to AGP, I then messed around with a few other things in the BIOS, since then its been out of PCI mode though only my 3dmark2001 scores went up (some) but my 3dmark2000 didnt..I always score half in Win2k of what I do in WinMe... with 2000..however I always get better score with 2001 in Win2k...go figur

I think i can clarify a few things although i can't fix the problem. What happens is that for some reason, it connects through the AGP slot, but it uses the PCI bus to transfer data. therefore it's half if not more as slow. I know someone who has the same problem with a GF2 MX on Win2k (maybe that's the problem, though unlikely).
