This is my first crossfire build and I will be using a Q6600 and probably DDR2 ram so I was wondering what are some good motherboards to choose from.

Thanks for the advice in advance :santa:

+1 vote for the Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 board here. I've been p1mping that mobo since I bought mine. Important specs:

$200 pricetag is quite affordable
Dual PCIE 2.0 x16 slots = best possible for CF of 38xx series
Dual BIOSes in case you somehow corrupt one with a bad flash, bad OC, et al
X38 chipset for big FSB overclock & stability with quads
100% certified for all Penryn cores and 1600FSB
Audio, Gigabit lan, lots-o-USB 2.0, firewire, ICH9R SATA RAID, etc

Personally I would pick up a Asus P5E. (x38 chipset, Dual PCIE 2.0 x16 slots) But I don't need a lot of extra features.

This motherboard is probably the best X38 board out there now. You can get an open box one from newegg for $196, or a new one for only $230.
