they are assembled there because labor is cheap and people work for like $1/hour where as to if they did it in the USA AMD would have to pay like $8-23/hour

Lol yeah...I went from one shop to another and what I got is "out of the stock" as the answer. There're a lot of AMD lovers right now and they gotta eliminate this shortage before they losing out to Intel.

Most of the retailers prefer to keep Intel cpu's in their stock and if you have to wait like 2-3 days to get an AMD in my area.

US$121 for an XP1500, what do you think?

Not bad, check on www.pricewatch.com to see how it compares to chips in the US

The cpu's are much more expensive in Malaysia lol. $108 for an XP1500, I can't get that price anywhere unless there's a pc fair...

The cost of making the chips is very very cheap I think, look at how all the semiconductor companies reap profits in billions of dollr every year...

Eternity, I got no problem using a 235W psu, the system is stable...is there any harm using a way too low power..?

you probly won't be able to overclock well because the cpu is gonna need more power...don't get me wronh you will be able to OC but not near as well as you would if you had a 350 or 400watt psu
