Help!!!!!!

Ok i just got a new mother board and cpu for christmas:athlon xp1900+ and msi k7t266-ru

i have been running windows 2000 for the last 2 days and i just installed a new fan it boots then i go into bios everything works ok and everything looks good adn then when i go to boot to win 2k it freezes at startup. I have tried going into safe mode and everything and i dont know what to do. Does anyone know what could cause this but right before i shut here down i installed a divx codec could that be the problem and if so what should i do? But i cant bot at all even in safe mode. please help me?

ok u just installed a new fan? could something be lose, like cable on drive not tight in, or ram, u can check the basics first then boot into your 2kcd and hit f10 at the setup screen, then do a repair install if nothing else. for future use go to run box and type ntbackup, and create a ERD emerg repair disk with a reg backup(all on 1 floppy) and if u have problems just repair to the floppy last ERD setup. congrats on ur xmas score, i got some slippers

yeah thankyou very much man i just cheked the heatsink clip and it had been bent and it was like not toching the core very well so ill have to go buy another one thankyou so much for bringin all of tat to my atention and what kind of slipper did you get bugs bunny?
