Hey, recently done an upgrade (see sig) but I decided to keep me psu coz i "thought" it would be good enough but since doing my upgrade i get an error everytime i boot up saying that my cpu has either got the wrong voltages or temperatures. I've reseated the HSF so I know its not that and when using PC Probe II i get the following readings:

If I've got one big weekness when it comes to computers its voltages and temps (although note that cpu is normally below 40C but just been playing games). Is there anything anyone can tell from those readings? The 5v rail deviates from having a normal/abnormal reading quite frequently.... Any help would be much appreciatted.

Dan,
However inaccurate PC Probe may be, your 12v reading may be relevant to a problem. Can you check a molex for voltage with a DMM to get 5v and 12v accurate readings? Doesn't that model have voltage adjustments for your rails?

Dan,
Maybe 10-15 Euros. I would borrow one ASAP and not use that computer until you know voltages. Any neighbors that you can borrow one from?

I haven't got any neighbours lol I live right in the center of preston city n everything thats around are businesses but I'm sure the uni must have them, I'll ave a look in the cisco lab they've got a cupboard full of loads'a goodies!! haha I've never used one before tho, I'm sure i can find somewhere on the net a basic tutorial but have you got any tips or things to be careful/look out for? Or is it as simple as connecting it up, switching on and recording the readings?
