Hi,

I'm a noob in overclocking and a real beginner. I have build my first rig with the following components:
P35c-Ds3r rev 1.1
Q6600
OCZ2N1066SR2GK

My bios is set up like this:
Advanced BIOS
Hard disk boor priority= Press enter
first boot device = floppy
Second boot device = cd rom
third boot device = hard disk
password check = setup
hdd s.m.a.r.t. capability = enabled
limit cpuid max. to 3 = disabled
No-Execute Memory Protect = Enabled
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) = Enabled
CPU Theremal Monitor 2(TM2) = Enabled
CPU EIST Function = Disabled
Virtualization Technology = Enabled
full screen logo show = disabled
init display first = PEG
Power Management Setup
HPET Support = Enabled
HPET Mode = 32-bit mode

PC Health Status
Smart FAN Control Method = auto
Smart FAN Control Mode = Auto

MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
robuust graphics booster = auto
CPU Clock Ration = 9 X
CPU Host Clock Control = Disabled
CPU Host Freq = 266
PCI Express frequency = auto
C.I.A.2 = Disabled
Performance Enhance = Standard
System Memory Multiplier (SPD) = auto
[Memory Frequency(Mhz) 1066 1066
High Speed DRAM DLL Settings = Option 1
DRAM Timing Selectable (SPD) = Manual
CAS Latency Time = 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay = 5
DRAM RAS# Precharge = 5
Precharge delay(tRAS) = 15
Act to Act delay = auto
Rank write to read delay = auto
write to read delay = auto
refresh to act delay = 0
refresh tp precharge delay = auto
tRD = auto
tRD phase adjustment = auto
*******system voltage optimized********
System Voltage Control = Manual
DDR2/DDR3 OverVoltage Control = +0.4V
PCI-E OverVoltage Control = normal
FSB OverVoltage Control = normal
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control = normal
CPU Voltage Control = normal
Normal CPU Vcore = 1.287500V

When i try overclocking my bios starts up then shutsdown and resets to the above settings. For overclocking I only change the folowing settings , lets say I OC from 266 to 300:

CPU Host Clock Control = Enabled
CPU Host Freq = 300
PCI Express frequency = 100
System Memory Multiplier (SPD) = 3.2
[Memory Frequency(Mhz) 1066 960

The problem is that if I save my settings my bios starts up. than stops after the cpu ( 9*300 = 2700) line with just showing the memory test line. I don't have a clue what i'm doing wrong.

Thanks in advance!

First, turn down the ram voltage by.1 . This board starts at 2.0 volts not 1.8 . I checked it with a DMM. Next, try changing the System Memory Multiplier (SPD) = auto to manual and then select the 2.00 multiplier. That sets the cpu/ram to 1 to 1 and you should see some good results. Here are some more info on the ram multipliers.
System memory multiplier:

2.50 = 4/5
3.00 = 2/3
2.00 = 1/1
2.40 = 5/6
3.20 = 5/8
3.33 = 3/5
4+ = 1/2

When I first tried OC'ing this board I had lots of problems until I used the 2.00 multiplier. I've sinced settled on the 2.50 and am running my Q6600 @3.15

I've tried to set te fsb to 280 with memory multiplier of 2.0. It still hangs in the bios and restarts.....

The Ram is in the memory support list by gigabyte. It runs perfectly on the basic settings of 266 mhz and a 4.0 memory multiplier. I don't think the cpu voltage is the problem because if I upgrade the mhz from 266 to 280 that shouldn't really be a real problem.... Because I'm a noob I don't even know howmuch I should upgrade the cpu voltage with. It is on 1.28750 right now.
