i am looking to upgrade my 2x1gb corsair xms "sli ready memory" which is ddr2 800. Would i see much of a performance loss if i added 2 more corsair xms ram that wasnt "sli ready" they are both ddr2-800, im gonna have 4gb in total running on my hackintosh/xp dual boot. I would just get the ones i have but these ones im looking at are 25 bucks cheaper. the timings are a bit slower aswell and i know they would take the speeds of the lower ones. any suggestions? thanks

edit: forgot to mention.. only ocing im doing is a modest 600mhz to my c2q.

wow holy crap am i an idiot. disregard this post. i forgot that in my other computer i have 2 more of the exact same modules, i will just use those and buy new ram for the computer i took it from.

When adding 2 sticks to an existing 2 sticks, the pull on the mobo is harder. You should really try to match them as best you can, meaning the same exact sticks. You can very easily have issues trying to make your existing RAM run slower and match the new RAM. $25 isn't much to ensure compatibility. Just buy the same you already have.

That being said, it might work just fine. Just saying you are complicating the equation needlessly.
