Ok I'm about to enroll in A+ Computer Hardware. The price for the classes is $220. Does that sound right? I'll also be taking Software/Installation Troubleshooting, Operating Systems, and lastly Computer Diagnostics. Can any of you think of anything else I might want to take.

The A+ fundementals is just the beginning. For A+ certification you need to take three 'core' exams (one of which is the fundamentals) plus one or two optionals.

But price wise $220 sounds about right, but that alone won't get you certification.

Hope this helps.

Have you looked at the stuff on the test and in the study books? A+ is pretty much just a hardware tech cert, if you know alot about PCs now, you could probably just go through a few books to get to know the more obscure items, then take the tests with no classes.

Or do they require you to take the classes first?

CompTIA publish a book with all the material you need for the fundamentals exam. Its about £25 ($37 ish).

Guess it depends if you want to learn it yourself or prefer having someone explain it to you.
