VMWare overhead?

I plan on running x86 ubuntu on a computer that I am building because currently the software I wish to run on it would require me to set up a chroot just for it (which is a massive pain). So this would mean that I would need to run a vmware copy 64bit linux for smp folding. What kind of PPD loss should I expect running this in a vm instead of native? It will be a Core2Duo around 3-3.1GHz.

6% to 10%. Still, faster than Win SMP on most WUs.
