I have 2gigs of both Patriot and Gskill and was wondering which would be the best to use. Both have heat spreaders. I do plan to do some might overclocking but nothing to heavy.

The specs for the Patriot:
Speed DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)
Cas Latency 4
Timing 4-4-4-12
Voltage 1.8V

Specs for the G Skill:
Speed DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Cas Latency 5
Timing 5-5-5-15
Voltage 1.8V - 2.0V

I know the Gskill has faster speed but the latency is higher. So which set would you put in your system? Both is not an option btw.

well for ocing past the 400mhz fsb neither would work.. now if you just want to oc the cpu to around 400mhz then the gskill is the better option. for not much more though you can get 4-4-4-12 timings gskill ddr2-800 sticks, 59 if i recall right from newegg.

as to which will have a higher bandwidth they will prolly be close to each other.

Using a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L mb with E6300 Duo cpu.

well that board can do 500mhz+ fsb... if you really want to try to get that high you need to spend a bit more for better ram... either that or if your ok with 400mhz fsb for a oc then the first set of gskills you listed will be ok...

Thanks for the advice. I was using the Patriots before in fact I spent $250 on them over a year ago. Memory prices have dropped alot since then. A friend gave me a brand new pair of the Gskills I mentioned, I dont really have the option of changing or upgrading them at the moment.

I will use the Gskills and oc as you recommended.

ah so then when you ocing keep the 1:1 ratio for the memery. meaning that when you oc you ram will be running in sync with the fsb. IE 333fsb would make the ram be ddr2-667 speed and so on, for that board you will use the 2x. that way when you hit 400mhz fsb that gskill ram will be at ddr2-800 speed.
