View Full Version : need advice on good cd-rw
I'm looking at getting a cd-rw and want to know which one I could get that has good performance and at a low price range. So far I've got too on my mind:
LG 16x10x40 = $127 retail cdn. dollars
Sony 16x10x40 w/ BURN-Proof (CRX1611) = $128 cdn. dollars
I'm looking at spending no more than $150 cdn. Anyone else know of any better priced cd-rw's than above?
Friend of mine has the LG you speak of.
He says it's a great drive.
CAn't beat the price!!
Plexstore is the best but that'll cost you more like 230 cad

i vouch for a-open's cd-rw drives, there hasnt been a cd i couldnt copy and i have only once recevied a buffer under run error and that was because i decided to "manage my own memory settings". also, my drive's speed rivals that of my friend plextor equivilent, and aopen drives are cheap too!

I've got to agree with malbolgia, the Lite On 24x is great! Go to www.cdrinfo.com to get in the know, and head over to www.pricewatch.com to pick one up for easily under $100! It's cheap, fast, and makes perfect safe-disc 2 backups! Cdrinfo was hard pressed to say anything bad about it! I've had mine for a while now and I've worked the HE!! out of it, and I've never had a problem with it, (no more coasters!). I even helped a buddy of mine get one for christmas, and he loves it too!
Wow. Lots of brands listed in here that I would NEVER consider buying. Just remember, "buy cheap, buy again".
I'd go with the Sony at the very least.
