i have a 1.33ghz with a volcano 2 on it ( i know that is crap if it was good i wouldnt be posting this), but im planning on buying a new fan instead of upgrading and am wondering which fan setup i would need to crank it up to 1.6ghz. if any one has or knows how to do that please reply.

Any good HSF combo should do it. like millenium Glaciator II or the G-Lite. SK-6 with a 38Delta fan, and such.

What is your system specs? motherboard, CPU stepping, memory, etc.

Spend 20 bucks and buy a Glaciator I. I'm getting one soon and I will then know if its better then a SK6 w/ delta black lable 38cfm I'm sure noise v/s performance it will be a much better choice.

Glaciator II

With a Delta Blowing over it

2 Exhaust Fans
1 80MM Directly Ontop of your CPU
I Dont think cranking it to a 1.6Ghz is gonna last long..

1.5 Would BE THE Max i would go.

Welcome to The Forums!

There are a bunch of Beginner's Guides on the front page Click Me (http://www.overclockers.com/) with good info, and a database as well: lets you see what people with your cpu have done.

I mostly use cheapo stuff, but a good hsf makes things a LOT easier!

SiSoft Sandra and MotherBoard monitor are two pieces of software you may want to get- look in the UTILITIES section on the front page for them!
