Hi I am in the process of overclocking my EVGA GeForce 7600GT using RivaTuner v2.06 and was wondering what other people with a 7600GT have gotten as their Core Clock, Memory Clock, and FPS. I am not interested in a 3DMark score, just the clocks :) So post away everyone that owns a 7600GT!

-My card is set default to 560 Core Clock with a 700 Memory Clock.
-I overclocked it to 675 Core Clock and 755 Memory Clock.
-Currently being cooled with a ZEROtherm GX815 Gamer Edition Cooler.
-Temp idles at 34C and Max at 54C

-Is this a good overclock?
-Can I overclock it more?
-Is it better to lower the Core Clock and raise my Memory Clock?
-What is the difference between the Core Clock and Memory Clock performance wise?

Thanks everyone!

i think your core clock is pretty high, but memory clock is a little low.

w/auto nvidia settings got ~614/820 as the highest stable.

-Is this a good overclock? Its pretty average, MEM clock is a little low I got 800.
-Can I overclock it more? Memory probably 50-100 more.
-Is it better to lower the Core Clock and raise my Memory Clock? Uh, depends really. I like my GPU clock kinda high though.
-What is the difference between the Core Clock and Memory Clock performance wise? GPU clock would make the GPU faster and the MEM clock would make the MEM faster, but I always like to have my GPU getting more clocks.

I know my answers are vague but its what I can share. I have the same card as you and I got 650/800 max. Your temps are nice so you should be able to OC your card a little more if you'd like. My temps are 45c idle 80c load.

So I OCed my Video Card to 614/820 to see what would happen and it seemed alright on a CS: Source test but little white dots showed up on COD4 :bang head Thanks for the replies everyone I'm going to now try 651/801 :)

Just tried out 651/801 and COD4 still flashes some white dots :(

For some reason now my card has to be at 621/755 to run stable. It now will show white dots in COD4 at 675/755 :( Ugh...any ideas?

You should be able to push the mem some more but I think you're about topped out for the core. The highest mine was benchable was 640/840 and that was with pencil mods (http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=3330&s=1) and aftermarket cooling.

Well I have come to the conclusion that my highest overclock I can get is 621/755 in order to run stable. Thank you all for your help and advice!

I don't know how, but mine was 24/7 stable at 666/1900. Yes, 1900 memory... Don't ask me, I don't understand how either.

It pulled 4216 in 3DM06 with an AMD 4200+ :)

Every card performs differently in every game. Some games can take a much higher clock than others, CoD4 seems to be one that artifacts quite easily, so with other games you might be able to push it higher (such as UT3, I know that takes high clocks well)

Oh WOW! That's insane! Well you have an amazing idea there and I will probably start to experiment and make custom overclocks for different games :) I know I can get higher in CS: Source...

I tested it out and have my CS: Source Overclock at 621/820 stable. I tried for 838 but the game froze and recovered so I played for a little longer...then when I exited the game I got a message saying how the display stopped working but has successfully recovered...anyone know how bad this could of turned out?

Mine did well with a 120mm fan blowing outside air directly across the stock fan. XFX 7600 GT XXX PCI Express. Had it running solid at 650/900 with no problems. Never tried any higher since it was such a nice even number. :P

In comparison my new XFX 8800GT Extreme can barely overclock the memory at all without bugging out :(

That XFX 7600GT XX PCI Express is a good card. I like the even numbers too :) That XFX 8800GT Extreme sounds like a powerful card...what clocks are you running on it?

kkaso try the pencil mods in the link I posted :)

That 1900 memory is because it's 950 clock but 1900 effective. Like when mine was 840mhz, but it was actually 1680. It's like when your ram says 400mhz in cpuz it's actually 800mhz ;)

I am little reluctant it seems risky...what are the risks?

If they don't work it comes off with an eraser :D

Here are my custom overclocks for the following games:
621/755 - BF2142/COD4
621/780 - Team Fortress 2
621/800 - Counter Strike: Source

I will post more as I experiment with my other games...

My XFX 7600gt is at 711/809. I must have gotten lucky with my card. The nTune fine tuning said to go 710/810.

Idle 42c Max 66c.

AMD 4200+ @ 2.44, 4gb RAM, XP

Try doing the pencil volt mod. I got mine to 685/810. Crysis 1hr stable. Temps were 40/60.

I am using eVGA Precision and have my GeForce 7600 GT fan at 100% when in game. I can OC to 647/800 and on BF2 set to 800x600 get FPS min 50 ave 80 max 100 with temps of min 46 ave 49 max 52.
