OK I am having a strange issue with my router. Its blocking one website from time to time. The problem is the website is mine and I access it regular.
I run a website for our FPS gaming clan. Website in sig. Anyway sometimes I can get right on it others I can't. Sometimes I get on it and 30 minutes later I can't and then 2 hours later it might let me. What I am trying to say is its no certain time or pattern. Sometimes it won't sometime it will. This is the only site it does this on. I can unhook the router and it works fine but this makes the wife mad.
I have some images linked from the site to another site I run. When it blocks the site it will block the images on the other site for me when I get on it. I know its the router. I unhooked it and it works. ANy other site I have gone to it works fine. Its only this one site.
The router is a belkin n1 Part # F5D8231-4 The computer I am using is wired to it but my other system wireless to it has the same problem.
I have never used belkin before. Always used dlink but when my dlink died this was the only n1 circuit city had so I went with it.
I have upgraded the firmware.
Reset it to default a couple of time to make sure
contacted support (waste of time)
turned firewall off no help
turned others settings off no help
I have done everything I know. Googled it found very little info. One person had a question similar to mine but no answers.
Thanks for the time and even more thanks if someone can help me

well geesh man, those are the steps I was going to suggest lol...
Next time you can't access it see if you can ping it. If you can't ping it type "nslookup alabamagang.com" and see what IP it spits out.
When you were talking to support they didn't offer to replace the router? If it's still under warranty you might call them back and explain the situation and say you want the router replaced. If they refuse ask to talk to a manager.
Well, I am not certain its your router.
For one, router's dont arbitrarily block one site sometimes.
Two, I can get to your site, however cannot trace to your sites IP. It stops at the 4th hop, which I find very strange as that is the next hop out of my providor's network. All other traces work fine, just not to your IP.
Edit: Traces seem to work fine now. I suspect your host as having issues, not your router.

my host is dreamhost. I have talked back and forth with them as well and they assure me everything is ok. When it does this I can actually still goto dreamhost main site.
Also my clan runs team speak and when it happens to me I have had 5 or 6 people goto the site and it loads just fine.
To answer the question when it does it I can not ping it. I can not search it through yahoo or google and click to it. I can not run a tracert I can not do anything. I can move the cable from the router to the modem and be on the site as soon as I bypass the modem.
As for the support I have yet to get an actual person. All I get is try this or this and if that does not work contact us. Needless to say nothing they told me to do has worked. They had me change mtu settings and I could not figure how that or anything else they had me do could have any effect on one single site.
I also can not figure how a router would block one site but it works when I bypass it.
Its very strange. I just know that I was unable to trace to it several times, then all of a sudden the trace went through.

GOOD! Now... when you can't ping to it see if you can ping 208.113.239.78 Also, pull that up in your browser when you CAN get to it. It will say:
Site Temporarily Unavailable
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact the webmaster/ tech support immediately to have them rectify this.
error id: "bad_httpd_conf"
Now, when you can't pull up the site, type that IP in your address bar and see if you get the same message.
Then see if you can traceroute to that IP. If your router is really the problem then you won't get past the first hop.

Thats sweet... suggesting mtu for complete lack of connectivity. Maybe your mtu was going to zero! oh noes!!! ;)
The router blocking one site... it is VERY odd. 99.9% of the time it's not the router. It's honestly more likely to be a sporadic DNS issue.

It is probably your host but either way:
Can I have links in my sig?
Short Answer: No, unless you are staff.
Long Answer: Members are allowed certain links in their sigs (specifically those to pages within the forums, or to articles on Overclockers.com as well as links to the websites for the Overclockers.com Folding@Home, SETI@Home and 3DMark teams, or heatware links). Anything else, which includes email addresses and links which are not necessarily hyperlinks, is not allowed. The only exceptions are members of staff - Senior Members, Moderators, and Administrators.

Well I did not know that and I have seen a lot of people with links just as that in a sig and to the same types of sites. Did not realize it was such a big deal. However I would have thought a pm about it instead would have been a lot nicer and a lot more meaningful and I would have happly removed it and before you start this about reading the rules I did but it was over 3 years ago when I joined and I do good to remember what happened last week :) Not to mention I am a member on no telling how many sites and its impossiable to remember what everyone expects.

yes my mtu was set at 1392 and they had me change it to 1400. they have had me change all kinds of stuff and everytime they start off we a premade message that starts off as we understnad you are having blah blah blah. Anyway I will give what you suggested a shot. Lastnight it worked fine with no problems at all.

that would indicate to me that the host is blocking your IP. You _are_ getting there... you don't happen to be running any sort of program or script that checks for broken links or anything like that, do you? I've seen ppl getting blocked for that because it pretty much looks like a dos attack.
Try changing your WAN IP. If you don't know how give bellsouth a call. FYI, you can probably do it by unplugging your modem for 5-10 minutes then plugging it back in.

Not running any programs you mentioned that I know of unless Vista has it. Like I say sometimes it blocks me other times it does not. Night before it worked fine all night last night it blocked me until about 9:30 central and went back to working fine. Anyway thanks for all the ideas and I will unplug the modem for a few minutes and give that a shot. If its the actual website blocking me I have full control of it. Maybe there is something I can change there. Maybe it just don't like me because I am on it all the time :).
