Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R PCI x4 open ended slot?

Hi all,

I got this GA-G33M-DS2R microATX board.
I stumbled upon that PCI Express x4 slot. Its OPEN ENDED!

What does this mean?

I was looking for a good Raid controller card, and the best on the market are PCI x8, could it fit in the slot?

Any thoughts?

I second this and if it does infact work it will be at a heavily reduced peformance figure. However it does appear possible to run Xfire in that motherboard....

I haven't got any 8X cards to try but everything else worked. CF included.
