I know everyone on here laughs at stock fans, but does anyone know of any reviews on coolermaster hsf's? I mean, with one of the stock fans for an athlon 1900xp, how low of a processor speed would you have to go for the hsf to be effective for overclocking?

I recently saw a review for a Coolmaster something 002...I wanna get my hands on that one...it tested great ! Yes, it was a Coolmaster :D

They're not bad if you don't do anything but check e-mail and surf the net. If you start getting into anything that's CPU intensive, they don't really compare to a good quality HSF.

I was more wondering this... would the stock fan for an athlon 2000xp be sufficient for overclocking a 1.2ghz duron? How about a 1.4ghz t-bird? I know the fans do a mediocre job for what they are designed for, but how about for lesser applications? And does anyone know of a site where they post the heat output of different processors? (this would help answer my question.)

I have a few of those coolermasters...I take off the thermal pad and use some silver...
With a thicker fan, they actually cool pretty good!
With regard to cooling that Duron, I would say it is good enough, but the only way to know for sure is to try it!

No no. I'm not talking about those 1st gen Coolermasters.
Check out their new ones - HCC-002 and HHC-001
They have tested really well on several sites. They have also been praised for their clip design and "heatpipe" (001) technology.
Check it out!

If some of my vendors had actually had them in stock, I would have one right now...
