First post from me.
I've just got a new Zalman Reserator XT, filled it up and degassed it according to instructions. It's not connected to the PC yet - just has the degassing tube across the back.
After reading all the reviews about how quiet it is, I'm disappointed at the noise from the pump. Even at the lowest manual setting, it sounds like a motorbike. Is this normal, or does it get quieter with use?
Separate question - looking at the vents on the side, it seems that the fins will eventually get blocked with dust and fluff. Is it easy to clean out?
Any advice gladly accepted.

Never dealt with that pump. Blowing out the vents will need to be done no matter how hard, depending on your usage and amount of cats sleeping next to the rad. can of air, small 120V compressor, whatever.
