Currently using the 4.13.7189 drivers.. are these the newest ones?

Ive also notices IE to be slightly blurry which is odd considering its an ATI.. Is this due to hydravision?

Newayz im xtremely new to ATI so all this is new to me, been a voodoo lover for a long time. Any suggestions on what to enable (disable) in the settings? Is there a tweak guide around?

One more thing.. I dont see nething in regards to smoothvision, is the 7500 equipped with it?

Im using 98se

if you want to get the newest official drivers, just go to ati's homepage and d/l them. rage3d.com also has beta drivers that haven't officially been released by ati yet. try them all and just use whichever one works best for you.

Congrats on a good card purchase!! Second curious what you paid, hope $108 US or less or $199 canadian (futureshop).

Second the 7500 does not supprot or offer smoothvision only the 8500. I did alot of reading and I have played with many drivers. I am using XP Pro. I have found the best drivers to be either the

Omega 1086 (tweaked version of ATI's most recent driver for the 7500 the 3286)found Here (http://www.omegacorner.com/)

The next driver that will increase your performance, and some say more so than the Omega 1086, is a leaked beta driver 6.13.10.6006 that is for the 8500 but it works for the 7500, it requires a manual install vs a self installing driver such as the Omega 1086. You can find the leaked beta driver at http://www.3dchipset.com/drivers/index.shtml

I tried the leaked beta and it did improve my 3 D mark2K1 score however it did not allow my monitor refresh rates to work properly when I selected them through the ATI menu. Caused my screen to start flickering, only way to get rid of was to uninstall them and return to the Omega drivers which I have been using for a while.

I have found them to be the most stable, actually I have not had a problem and they scored me a 5024 on 3 D mark2K1 however the leaked 6006 did score me a 5090 and I know this can be increased with a bit more tweaking probably closer to 5200.

I tried both these drivers on a fresh install of XP right after I formatted. The 7500 also gives TV out at 1024x768 , no other card does this so it is great if you have an HDTV widescreen TV as I do, yet I have not tried it LOL. I am surprised you have had a bit blurry 2D Video, as the ATI cards are excellent in that area. New drivers should solve this issue.

BTW is your card reteail or OEM and have you looked to see what the speed is on your ramchips as some of the newer shipped 7500 could have 3.6-3.8 ddr ram.

Mod your card out any more questions post em , hoepfully I can help out. lovin my 7500!!!

Unfortunately the ram is 4 and the card is retail.

Well i figured out how to get agp 4x going but still cant find where to change my monitors refresh rate besides under adapter tab. Are those core and mem speeds correct for retail cards?

Yes your core and mem speeds are correct. DL powerstrip or Radeon Tweaker to overclock it, I prefer powerstrip it is much simpler and works well.

You can change your monitor refresh rate through control panel>display>settings tab>advanced> monitor (should be a drop down menu and you can select refresh rate that is applicable for your monitorand res you are running.

This is the way it is for XP it will be similar for Win 98 SE.

You got card at futureshop I am assuming as thats where I got mine for $199, best deal going in Canada right now. 4ns ram is good it is rated for 500 ddr, prolly can do more. Let me know how it is going and what ya think.

Also check to see if your mobo supports agp 4x in bios if so enable it there as well.
