I woke up this morning to a intermittent hissing like gas was leaking out of something or a speaker static. I looked at my motherboard and saw the power LED flashing in a very random, non normal way. The hissing a Chiiii----Chiiii--Chi chi chi chi chiiii like sound was coming the from PSU and seemed to be in sync with the power led flashes.

I turned the psu off for a few minutes and turned it back on, it stays stable long enough for me to turn it on. Once I turn comp on everything seems normall, no sounds, no weird things going on. Im sure this is related to the horrible time I have been having turning my computer on....

could it be bad power from the wall outlet? cause the psu still makes 5v when"turned off" and the tolerances for the transformers and such could be different from when just generating that 5v and full opperation. im more then likely wrong but just an idea

sounds like your PSU is on its way out. My 520w Powerstream took a dump on me last month. If it fails completely RMA it back to OCZ and they will replace it with a GXS 600w. I see a lot of these 520w expiring lately... guess they dont last longer that 1.5-2 years.

Or you could call up OCZ and get them to RMA it now so it doesn't die on you...........
